Terms of Service
Last updated September 15, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LicensePath (the "app," "we," "our"), an independent state insurance-licensing exam-prep product. By creating an account, starting a free trial, or otherwise using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What LicensePath is
LicensePath is a study and practice-exam tool for people preparing to sit a state insurance producer licensing exam. It provides a diagnostic assessment, practice questions, spaced-repetition flashcards, lessons, and full-length timed exam simulations, organized around the real content blueprint published by each state's testing vendor.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use LicensePath. It's built for adults studying for a professional licensing exam.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
- You can use core features (the diagnostic, a limited daily practice allowance, flashcards) without creating an account. Creating a cloud account lets your progress sync across devices. See our Privacy Policy for what that account stores.
3. Free and Premium access
LicensePath offers a free tier and a paid Premium tier. Free access includes the diagnostic, a capped amount of daily practice, and flashcards. Premium unlocks lessons, adaptive practice, full timed exam simulations, exam analytics, readiness history, and cross-device cloud sync. The current feature breakdown is always shown in the app before you subscribe.
Subscriptions and billing
- Premium is sold as an auto-renewing subscription (and, where offered, a one-time exam pass) through the Apple App Store or Google Play, whichever store you purchased through.
- Your payment method is charged directly by Apple or Google; we never see or store your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the price you agreed to unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings, not inside LicensePath.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies. We're happy to help you find the right place to request one.
- Prices, included features, and available plans may change going forward; we won't change what you're already paying for an active subscription without notice.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Copy, redistribute, scrape, or resell any question, lesson, or explanation content from the app.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying question bank or source code.
- Share a paid account's access with people who haven't paid for it.
- Use the app in any way that violates a state testing vendor's own exam-conduct rules or intellectual property.
- Interfere with the app's normal operation or attempt to bypass its access controls.
5. Our content and intellectual property
All questions, explanations, lessons, and app design are owned by LicensePath (or licensed to us) and are provided for your personal, non-commercial study use only. Practice content is written from publicly available statutes, regulations, and vendor content outlines, with citations included so you can verify the underlying source yourself. Our ownership claim is limited to our own original questions, explanations, and presentation; the underlying public law we cite remains in the public domain.
6. No guarantee, no professional advice
LicensePath is an educational study aid. It is not a guarantee of exam results, licensure, or employment, and it is not legal, insurance, or professional advice. Insurance laws and exam content outlines change; while we work to keep citations current and accurate, always confirm time-sensitive requirements (renewal deadlines, CE hours, filing fees) directly with your state's insurance department.
7. Termination
You can stop using LicensePath at any time and request deletion of your account and data. See our Account Deletion page. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of these Terms, including the acceptable-use rules above.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LicensePath is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including exam results or any decision made in reliance on app content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
9. Changes to these Terms
If we make a material change to these Terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, without limiting any consumer protections you're entitled to under the law of the state where you live.
